A most important element of using search engines for web sites whether
they are for users or advertisers is keywords (or key phrases). "Keywords are
what a user enters into a search engine query to find web sites that are
relevant to a company’s web site "and are used by potential customers (Stokes,
2013). Therefore, for one who wants to start his/her business online, it is
very important how they choose to select key words. For example, a coaching
company promising to improve peoples’ careers should be sure to include key
words on Google such as “coaching” and “business coaching” or “Brenda Decroo
Coaching”. The only way to find Brenda Decroo Coaching on Google is to type in
“Brenda Decroo Coaching”; there are no other keywords that will find her web
site. Google provides a free keyword tool to help small businesses get their

“Strategy is defined as a set of ideas that outline how a product line
or brand will achieve its objectives. This guides decisions on how to create,
distribute, promote, and price the product or service” (Stokes, 2013). For
example, if I had an online clothing shop and my business objective was to increase
visitors to my site, what strategy should I employ? I should promote the
reputation of my shop. Strategy is the key to achieve business objectives and
guide movement to promote reputation.
Recently, the most useful skills I learned were Google market finder and
Google real-time insight It’s a good resource for us to analyze this data and
it helps me to know the market of some specific industries. Below is the tendency
that I got from Google real-time insight and the tendency of interest of
business coaching across the Google search engine in recent years and past
years.
Lastly, I would say that it’s just a beginning that we have come so
close to the internet and know more about why it is so important today. Thanks
to the GOMC pre-campaign, I have the experience of working with a real client,
which will be fantastic for me; it will be challenging for me to explore the
marketing strategies for client’s, but it will still be an opportunity for me
to improve myself and see how far I can go. In the next session, I would like
to learn more and know how to use Google products because they can make a
difference in my life.
